What is the most reputable online fax service?

Among top rated mobile fax apps, Municorn Fax App combines affordability, security, and user satisfaction with 256-bit encryption and HIPAA compliance. iFax ranks highest for business users with 4.8-star Android and 4.6-star iOS ratings. Dropbox Fax received PCMag's "Best Overall" designation for general users prioritizing fax quality and ease of use.

iFax offers a genuine 7-day free trial with full-feature access, not a freemium model. The trial provides complete functionality including sending, receiving, document scanning, and eSignatures. After 7 days, paid subscription is required starting at $4.99/month. No hidden charges appear during the trial, though some plan tiers may require credit card information upfront.

Are mobile fax apps safe?

Yes, top rated mobile fax apps employ strong security protections including 256-bit AES encryption, secure authentication, and encrypted storage. HIPAA-compliant apps (iFax, Fax.Plus, Municorn) meet healthcare security standards. Enable two-factor authentication, use strong passwords, and verify app permissions. Apps lacking compliance certifications should not transmit protected health information or regulated financial data.

Can I send a fax from Gmail for free?

Multiple top rated mobile fax apps integrate with Gmail's email-to-fax feature, though most require at least a free account. Fax.Plus email-to-fax allows sending faxes directly from Gmail with its free 10-page tier. Dropbox Fax provides 5 free pages for Gmail users. Compose an email to the recipient's fax number @ your service provider's domain (e.g., recipientnumber@fax.plus), attach documents, and send. Complete faxing via Gmail typically requires signing up for a service account first.

Which top rated mobile fax apps work on both iPhone and Android?

Municorn Fax App, iFax, Fax.Plus, Dropbox Fax, MyFax, MetroFax, and FaxZero all provide native apps for both iOS and Android platforms. Account data synchronizes across devices automatically. Only Easy Fax (Top Fax) operates Android-exclusive. Choose cross-platform apps if you use multiple device types.
